Predicted to enable actin binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of vascular associated smooth muscle cell proliferation. Located in cytoskeleton. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Nov 2021] Function: Thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. The interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity (By similarity). Subunit: Part of cGMP kinase signaling complex at least composed of ACTA2/alpha-actin, CNN1/calponin H1, PLN/phospholamban, PRKG1 and ITPR1. Tissue Specificity: Smooth muscle, and tissues containing significant amounts of smooth muscle. Similarity: Belongs to the calponin family. Contains 3 calponin-like repeats. Antigen retrieval: citrate buffer ( 0.01M, pH 6.0 ), Boiling bathing for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% Hydrogen peroxide for 30min; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum,C-0005) at 37℃ for 20 min;
Incubation: Anti-Calponin 1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated(bs-0095R) 1:200, overnight at 4°C, followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody(SP-0023) and DAB(C-0010) staining
